Retention Planning Applications

Building works which are not exempted from Planning Regulations are called ‘unauthorised developments’ and they require a retention application be lodged with the local authority. At MOL Engineers we have a vast experience of making Retention Planning Applications and we are very experienced in securing retention permission for all manner of unauthorised additions, and have an excellent track record.

Extend Duration of Planning Permission

Generally speaking the time period for your planning permission is 5 years, however you can now extend this period by a maximum of a further 5 years if the development was not commenced due to ‘commercial, economic or technical reasons’. You can only apply for the extension of time in the final year of the life the planning permission. Planning Appeals – An Bord Pleanála

The planning system includes a comprehensive appeals process. Under this, all planning decisions made by planning authorities may be subject to independent review by An Bord Pleanála.
